Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, place, or other term entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. St. John the Baptist Parish Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy policy.
Emails and Other Messages
If you email or submit a contact message, we retain the information needed to read the request and provide a reply. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, court process, or another valid legal demand.
Technical Visit Information
Like most websites, the site receives limited technical information when a page loads. This information supports operation, measurement, and troubleshooting. It may include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- Date and time stamps associated with the visit.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support basic features. Browser controls can refuse or remove cookies. Blocking them may cause some features, partner tools, or preferences to work differently.
Reasons We Use Data
Information collected through a visit is used only for ordinary site and service purposes, including:
- Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive.
- Sending search requests to the selected partner service.
- Learning which pages and resources visitors find useful.
- Diagnosing errors, misuse, and other technical problems.
- Displaying advertising that may be based on visitor interests.
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office, the Sherman Walker custody portal, Louisiana corrections resources, jail rosters, booking feeds, court and government portals, news outlets, or outside search tools. The privacy terms of the destination control after a visitor follows one of those links. We do not set or administer those outside policies.
Some advertising partners may use their own technology to recognize activity across more than one website and tailor advertisements. That processing occurs on the partner's systems rather than on systems operated by St. John the Baptist Parish Busted Mugshots.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be handled or received by:
- Search partners that process a visitor's submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure use and performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements.
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Safeguarding Information
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information within our control. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system connected to the internet can be guaranteed fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, interception, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek or collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of what we hold, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal information maintained about them.
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Delete personal information that we are permitted to erase.
- Opt out of processing where an opt-out right applies.
A request applies only to information controlled here. Records held by SJSO, the Clerk, Louisiana agencies, news outlets, or search partners must be addressed to the relevant custodian.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as site practices, service providers, or legal duties change. A revised version will be posted on this page and will identify its new effective date. Continued use after posting means the updated notice applies to later activity.
